Himachal Pradesh is set to establish the country's first integrated manufacturing facility for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API), Green Hydrogen, and 2G Ethanol in the Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh (BBN) area of Solan district. A Memorandum of Commitment (MoC) was signed between the State Government and Spray Engineering Devices Limited for this project with an investment of ₹1,400 crore. The facility, expected to create employment for 1,000 youths, will initially require 30 MW of green hydrogen, with plans to scale up to 50 MW. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu aims to make Himachal Pradesh the leading Green Energy State by 2026, emphasizing the state's commitment to clean energy and sustainable development. The project, which includes a focus on green hydrogen and 2G ethanol, aims to reduce carbon emissions and strengthen the region's industrial ecosystem. This initiative aligns with Himachal Pradesh's vision of becoming a hub for clean energy, while also creating opportunities in pharmaceutical manufacturing and biofuel production.
