The Hydrogen Valley Innovation Cluster - Kerala project has been launched to support Kerala's transition to sustainable energy. The initiative, approved by the state government, aims to develop a local hydrogen ecosystem and create economic opportunities while addressing environmental issues. The project, costing around Rs 133 crore, will focus on sectors like transportation, energy, and industry. The clusters formed under this project will initially supply hydrogen for use in vehicles, machinery, and electricity generation. The project aligns with Kerala's 2040 goal of achieving complete reliance on renewable energy. Green hydrogen, produced from renewable sources, will be a crucial component in this transition towards cleaner energy and environmentally friendly development. By maximizing the favorable conditions for green hydrogen production, the state aims to promote sustainable energy practices and innovation in alignment with the Central Department of Science and Technology's guidelines.
