Hygenco Green Energies, known for its endeavors in affordable green hydrogen production, has partnered with Denmark-based Topsoe to work on a green ammonia plant located in Gopalpur, Odisha. The collaboration entails Topsoe serving as the technology licensor for this upcoming project, slated for completion by 2027. This initiative is expected to be one of the sub-continent's pioneering large-scale green ammonia facilities. The decision to collaborate with Topsoe comes after Hygenco's successful launch of India's first commercial green hydrogen plant in 2024. Amit Bansal, the Co-Founder and CEO of Hygenco, has expressed the company's strong commitment to contributing to global energy transition and decarbonization efforts. The partnership with Topsoe is seen as a critical move towards enhancing green ammonia production capabilities. Additionally, Hygenco has secured significant financial backing for the project, with a $280 million debt financing agreement through an MOU with REC. This financial support underscores the confidence in the venture's potential and the importance of sustainable energy initiatives in India.
