Hyundai India made headlines with its debut in the stock market alongside the announcement of the upcoming Creta EV. However, the spotlight shifted to a futuristic development as the brand unveiled the Initium concept, a hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle showcasing new styling and advancements. The concept is set to be displayed at the LA Auto Show and Auto Guangzhou in November 2024, featuring a new 'Art Of Steel' design language focusing on the company's hydrogen portfolio. With an emphasis on safety and SUV appeal, the design introduces unique elements like plus-shaped graphics on DRLs and tail-lights. Promising a range of over 650 km and 204 bhp power output, the Initium is expected to set the stage for Hyundai's future FCEV models, including the Nexo. While Hyundai had previously paused Nexo FCEV plans in India due to EV and hybrid interests, the government's support for hydrogen models may reignite the brand's plans. As of now, Hyundai is prioritizing the launch of the Creta EV in early 2025, leaving the potential launch of the Initium in India uncertain.
