The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), acting as the implementing agency for the National Green Hydrogen Mission, has awarded Letters of Award to nine companies to establish green hydrogen production facilities in India. These companies emerged as the lowest bidders under Tranche II of Mode I, showing a commitment to advancing green technology. Among the selected companies are Reliance Green Hydrogen and Green Chemicals Ltd, L&T Energy Green Tech Ltd, and Waaree Clean Energy Solutions Private Ltd. Reliance Group stands out as the sole recipient of incentives in both rounds of the National Green Hydrogen Mission, highlighting its dedication to promoting sustainable energy practices. The government has introduced a structured incentive system for green hydrogen production, offering Rs 5,400 crore in incentives for establishing 450,000 tonnes per year of green hydrogen manufacturing capacity. The National Green Hydrogen Mission has set aside Rs 17,490 crore for production-linked incentives, with a significant portion allocated for green hydrogen and electrolyzer manufacturing. This initiative aims to drive the transition towards green energy and reduce carbon emissions. The capped incentive structure of Rs 50 per kg in the first year, Rs 40 per kg in the second year, and Rs 30 per kg in the third year encourages efficient and sustainable production methods.
