India has taken a significant step towards becoming a prominent player in the global green energy market by signing an agreement to export green ammonia to Japan. The agreement involves a partnership between Sembcorp Industries, Sojitz Corporation, Kyushu Electric Power, and NYK Line, aiming to establish a supply chain from India to Japan for green ammonia. Sembcorp Industries will lead the green ammonia production in India using renewable energy sources, with Kyushu Electric Power committing to incorporating it into its energy mix to reduce coal consumption. Sojitz Corporation will facilitate business connections, while NYK Line will handle the maritime transportation. This partnership showcases India's dedication to scaling up green energy production through live tenders for Green Ammonia and Green Hydrogen capacities. Minister Pralhad Joshi highlighted the government's support for green hydrogen and renewable energy initiatives, emphasizing India's growing expertise and commitment to sustainable development.
