Goyal also emphasized the sector's need to be self-sustaining, advocating against excessive reliance on production linked incentives (PLIs) and subsidies for long-term growth. The Indian cleantech ecosystem has witnessed a surge in startups focusing on eco-friendly solutions, ranging from electric vehicles to organic waste management. With significant investments pouring in and government support, the sector is poised for substantial growth, with projections indicating a $41 billion market opportunity by 2040.
