Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu reassured foreign airlines that India is prepared for the final assembly line of commercial aircraft within the country. Airbus is set to be a key player in India's indigenous commercial aircraft ecosystem, with plans for policy changes to support the industry. At a conference organized by GIFAS in New Delhi, Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury emphasized the significant investment in India's aerospace industry, with over 60 French companies already established in the country. Faury highlighted India's growing aviation sector and the need for thousands of aircraft technicians, a demand that Airbus aims to address. The collaboration also extends to sustainable aviation efforts, with Airbus working on Sustainable Aviation Fuel development in India and exploring opportunities in the green hydrogen mission. Minister Naidu projected a surge in domestic air passenger traffic to 300 million by 2030 and substantial investments in airport development. Moreover, the partnership between India and France aims to strengthen the global supply chain for Sustainable Aviation Fuel and expand the airport infrastructure, with plans to increase the number of operational airports to 200 by 2025 and develop more airports in the coming decades.
