In a significant move towards achieving net-zero emissions by 2070, India has initiated trials of hydrogen-powered heavy-duty trucks in New Delhi. Led by Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari and Pralhad Joshi, the launch marks a milestone in India's commitment to green energy. The project, part of the National Green Hydrogen Mission, aims to showcase the potential of green hydrogen in decarbonizing the transportation sector. Tata Motors, the company spearheading this initiative, will test 16 hydrogen-powered trucks equipped with advanced technologies on key freight routes. The trial, spanning 24 months, seeks to evaluate the commercial viability of hydrogen vehicles for long haulage and establish necessary infrastructure.
