Under the SIGHT Programme led by the MNRE in India, there have been significant allocations for the production of Green Hydrogen and Electrolyzer manufacturing capacity to drive the shift towards green energy. Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) initiated a competitive bidding process for the selection of Green Ammonia Producers to generate 5.39 lakh Metric Tonnes of Green Ammonia annually. This initiative falls under the National Green Hydrogen Mission, which aims to promote clean energy and self-reliance in India. With an ample budget allocation, the Mission is set to accelerate India's clean energy transition, decrease dependence on fossil fuel imports, and establish the country as a prominent player in Green Hydrogen technology globally. The move is expected to lead to substantial decarbonization of the economy and reinforce India's position as a leader in the clean energy sector.
