Union Minister of Power and Housing & Urban Affairs, Shri Manohar Lal, recently inaugurated NTPC's Green Hydrogen Mobility Project in Leh, India. This pioneering project features a hydrogen fueling station, a 1.7 MW solar plant, and five fuel cell buses that operate at an altitude of 11,562 ft. The launch of this project marks a significant milestone for India, as it represents the country's first deployment of hydrogen buses on public roads. NTPC has set ambitious targets, aiming to achieve 60 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2032, along with establishing itself as a leader in green hydrogen and energy storage technologies. The initiative underscores India's commitment to transitioning towards sustainable energy solutions and promoting eco-friendly public transportation. This project not only showcases technological advancements in the field of renewable energy but also demonstrates the feasibility of adopting green hydrogen in challenging terrains like Leh.
