The Government of India, particularly through the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, has called for proposals to establish Centres of Excellence (CoEs) under the National Green Hydrogen Mission. This initiative is a pivotal step in positioning India as a global leader in clean energy technologies. The CoEs will focus on driving innovation in Green Hydrogen production, storage, and utilization technologies, which are crucial for India's long-term energy strategy towards sustainability and reduced carbon emissions. These centers will serve as hubs for cutting-edge research, skill development, and knowledge dissemination, fostering collaboration among industry, academia, and government bodies. With an earmarked budget of Rs. 100 crores, the government is committed to supporting the establishment of these CoEs. The National Green Hydrogen Mission, launched in 2023 with a significant budget, aims to reduce India's reliance on fossil fuel imports, decarbonize the economy, and achieve energy independence.
