INOX Air Products, India's largest producer of industrial, medical, and electronic gases, has successfully commissioned its first green hydrogen manufacturing plant in collaboration with Asahi India Glass Limited (AIS) at Soniyana, Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. The plant, designed to produce up to 190 tons of green hydrogen annually, will supply 95 tons per year to AIS for float glass manufacturing, marking India's first use of green hydrogen in glass production. By utilizing solar energy and an electrolysis process, the initiative aims to reduce the carbon footprint of industrial processes and drive the adoption of green hydrogen in India's manufacturing sector. The project, powered by a solar power plant, showcases a significant commitment to sustainability, with expected reductions of approximately 1,250 tons of CO2 emissions annually at the AIS facility. This move aligns with India's transition towards a low-carbon economy and underscores a joint commitment by INOX Air Products and AIS to sustainable practices.
