JCB India has launched a new range of emission norms compliant construction equipment, with the aim of achieving double-digit growth in the Indian market. The CEO, Deepak Shetty, highlighted the benefits of the new machines, including fuel efficiency improvements of 10-15%, lower maintenance costs, and reduced total cost of ownership. These machines are designed to be more productive and come with Roll-over Protective Structure (ROPS) compliance for operator safety. The company has decided to discontinue production of old models to make way for the new range. Despite expected cost increases due to new emission norms, JCB has managed to limit the increment to around 3.5-4%, compared to the industry average of 8%. In addition to the conventional models, JCB also presented their first hydrogen fuel-based heavy machine, which aligns with the government's focus on hydrogen infrastructure development. This move showcases JCB's commitment to sustainability and innovation. JCB's partnership with Shriram Automall India Limited aims to streamline the sale of pre-owned certified JCB machines, contributing to a more efficient and sustainable business model. Moreover, the introduction of a VR-based training simulator called Daksh will help reduce operator training costs and improve skill development across the country. Overall, JCB India's strategic focus on emission compliance, fuel efficiency, and safety features, along with their innovative approach towards hydrogen technology, is set to drive growth and sustainability in the construction equipment sector.
