The Toyota Mirai, a pilot project in India by Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt Ltd and the International Center for Automotive Technology (ICAT), is a leading Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV) known for emitting only water vapor as a byproduct. The Mirai serves as a platform to raise awareness about Green Hydrogen and FCEV technology in India, despite the challenges posed by the country's weather and terrain conditions. The car operates using hydrogen from its tanks, combining with oxygen to generate electricity that propels the vehicle, resulting in zero emissions. With efficient refueling similar to traditional vehicles, the Mirai's carbon-fiber-reinforced tanks and advanced safety measures make it a promising sustainable transportation option. Although the Mirai is not available for purchase in India, Toyota offers other eco-friendly models like the Camry, Innova Hycross Hybrid, and Vellfire luxury MPV. This initiative aligns with the global shift towards cleaner transportation and signifies a step towards a greener future in the automotive industry.
