During the sixth edition of the InnoRail Exhibition and International Conference held at the Research Designs and Standards Organization (RDSO) stadium in Lucknow, a toy model of India's first hydrogen train stole the show. Developed by RDSO, the eco-friendly train is currently in the trial phase and is expected to be operational between Sonipat and Jind in Haryana by March 2025. The hydrogen-powered train, with two engine coaches out of ten, will run at a speed of 110 km/hr, emitting no harmful pollutants and reducing noise by 60% compared to diesel engines. With a passenger capacity of 2638, the train marks a significant step towards Indian Railways' aim of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2030. The InnoRail Exhibition showcased cutting-edge railway products and services, providing a platform for over 175 Indian and international companies to exhibit their innovations and foster global collaboration. The event highlighted RDSO's initiatives in preventive maintenance, artificial intelligence utilization, and environmental sustainability, aligning with the railway sector's focus on energy efficiency and eco-friendly practices.
