Sembcorp, through its subsidiaries SGHI and Sembcorp Development, has signed two non-binding MoUs with the Odisha government to investigate the development of a 720,000 metric tonne per annum green hydrogen production facility and an industrial park in the state. SGHI will assess the feasibility of the green hydrogen facility, while Sembcorp Development will focus on the industrial park. The agreements were exchanged during the visit of Singapore President Tharman Shanmugaratnam to India, attended by dignitaries including Singapore's Minister for Transport, Chee Hong Tat, and Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. The project is expected to provide employment for over 2,000 individuals and supports the bilateral cooperation framework between Singapore and India, emphasizing sustainability and economic growth.
