With India's energy consumption set to increase significantly, the Minister discussed innovative solutions like hydrogen fuel cell technology in public transport and the surge in ethanol blending to 16%, with a target of 20% by 2025. He also pointed out the transformative impact of the Ujjwala scheme in expanding access to clean cooking fuels, benefiting economically weaker sections. Looking ahead, Shri Puri sees green hydrogen as a promising energy source, stressing the importance of local demand, production, and consumption while acknowledging the need to reduce production costs through innovation and technology scaling.
