The Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) 2025, organized under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, is set to feature the Green Hydrogen Summit once again. This summit, supported by the UAE and the clean energy leader Masdar, aims to gather industry leaders to advance the widespread adoption of green hydrogen across multiple sectors. The initiative reflects Abu Dhabi's aspirations to establish itself as the primary global hub for green hydrogen innovations through substantial investments and innovative practices, aligning closely with the emirate’s Low Carbon Hydrogen Policy and the UAE's National Hydrogen Strategy 2050. The Chief Executive Officer of Masdar, Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi, emphasized the crucial role of green hydrogen in revolutionizing energy systems by enabling the decarbonization of challenging sectors and accelerating progress towards net-zero objectives. The UAE's commitment to spearheading the development and deployment of green hydrogen technologies showcases through events like ADSW, which serve as catalysts for uniting global leaders, industry experts, policymakers, and investors to drive tangible actions for a sustainable future. The 2025 Green Hydrogen Summit will be structured to encourage constructive dialogue and actionable solutions through various interactive formats such as high-level panels, fireside chats, and working sessions. Building on the success of previous editions, the summit aims to enhance collaboration, attract investments, establish sustainable financial models, and promote standardization efforts on a global scale. With ambitious targets like producing 1 million tonnes per annum of green hydrogen or equivalent derivatives within a decade, Masdar is strategically investing in key projects and expanding its presence in crucial markets. Additionally, Masdar is actively contributing to the decarbonization of challenging sectors like aviation, marine, and steel by developing projects focused on green ammonia, eMethanol, SAF, eMethane, and liquid hydrogen, thereby supporting the global transformation of energy systems.
