Emirates SkyCargo, in collaboration with Allied Transport Company, is set to introduce hydrogen-powered trucks into its trucking fleet in Dubai, UAE. These trucks, which will be added by Q1 2026, will join the existing fleet of over 60 trucks that operate between Dubai World Central (DWC) and Dubai International Airport (DXB). The deployment of five hydrogen-powered trucks is a significant step towards transitioning to alternative fuel vehicles, with the aim of reducing CO2 emissions and improving air quality. These trucks, similar in cargo capacity to diesel-powered vehicles, will be refueled at dedicated hydrogen fuelling stations in Dubai, providing a range of up to 700 kms on a full tank. Badr Abbas, Divisional Senior Vice President at Emirates SkyCargo, highlighted the importance of this move in the company's emission reduction strategy, emphasizing the commitment to exploring sustainable technologies while maintaining service excellence. Ali Bin Beyat, CEO of Allied Transport Company, emphasized the joint effort in promoting cleaner and sustainable logistics in Dubai, aligning with the UAE's vision for a greener future. The introduction of hydrogen-powered trucks showcases a proactive approach by Emirates SkyCargo and Allied Transport Company towards environmental sustainability in the logistics sector.
