Emirates SkyCargo, in partnership with Allied Transport Company, is set to integrate five hydrogen-powered trucks into its fleet by the first quarter of 2026. These trucks, with a capacity of 28 tonnes each, are aimed at enhancing the environmental performance of the carrier's ground operations. Operating between Dubai World Central and Dubai International Airport and across the domestic region, the hydrogen-powered trucks offer a significant reduction in CO2 emissions compared to diesel-powered vehicles. With a range of up to 700 km on a full tank, these trucks will refuel at two stations in Dubai. Additionally, they are designed as tractor units compatible with various trailers, allowing for the transportation of different types of cargo. The deployment of these eco-friendly trucks signifies a strategic move by Emirates SkyCargo to explore alternative fuels and technologies to decrease emissions without compromising service quality. Badr Abbas, divisional senior vice president at Emirates SkyCargo, emphasized the importance of this initiative in the company's sustainability strategy. Ali Bin Beyat, CEO of Allied Transport Company, expressed confidence in the potential of hydrogen trucks to significantly reduce emissions, supporting a cleaner and sustainable logistics future in the UAE, particularly in Dubai. This joint effort aligns with Emirates SkyCargo's sustainability objectives and contributes to the UAE's vision of a greener future, showcasing a commitment to environmental responsibility and innovative solutions in the transportation sector.
