Gensol Engineering Limited, in collaboration with Matrix Gas & Renewables, has secured a contract to establish a green hydrogen valley in Pune, Maharashtra. The project, based on a build, own, and operate model, will provide green hydrogen to Pune's specialty chemical sector under a long-term offtake agreement. Anmol Jaggi, managing director of Gensol Engineering, praised the Indian government's support for hydrogen valleys, highlighting the significance of this initiative in fostering India's green hydrogen economy. The National Chemicals Laboratories (NCL) will support the project, which aims to convert 25 tonnes of bio-waste into 1 million tonnes of hydrogen daily, with an expected completion in one and a half years. Gensol and Matrix's partnership extends beyond this project, with plans to explore green steel and green ammonia production in the future.
