Honeywell has unveiled Protonium, an artificial intelligence and machine learning-enabled technology suite, designed to enhance the efficiency, scalability, and cost-effectiveness of green hydrogen production. The technology is set to be implemented at the Mid-Atlantic Clean Hydrogen Hub (MACH2) by Aternium, a US-based clean hydrogen producer. Aternium was chosen as one of the seven hydrogen hubs to receive support from the US Department of Energy. Protonium aims to tackle key challenges in green hydrogen production, including addressing power intermittency, reducing carbon intensity, and lowering production costs. By incorporating predictive control algorithms, the technology seeks to improve electrolysis efficiency and optimize plant design and operations.
