Gensol Engineering Limited and Matrix Gas & Renewables Ltd. have secured a project to establish India's first Green Hydrogen Valley in Pune. The initiative is focused on green hydrogen production to supply the specialty chemical sector under a Build Own and Operate (BOO) agreement for 20 years. Anmol Jaggi, Managing Director of Gensol Engineering, highlighted the Government of India's support in promoting Hydrogen Valleys through the Department of Science & Technology. Chirag Kotecha, Whole-time Director of Matrix Gas & Renewables, expressed commitment towards India's net-zero targets by participating in the National Green Hydrogen Mission. The project, facilitated by National Chemicals Laboratories (NCL) in Pune's Kurkumbh region, will utilize the electrolysis route for production. Gensol and Matrix will collaborate on green hydrogen derivatives such as green steel and green ammonia. The selection of these companies as project bidders was done through a competitive tender process.
