Italy's IEG Group and Hannover Fairs International GmbH have collaborated to introduce a new Hydrogen Show as part of the KEY – The Energy Transition Expo to be held at Rimini Expo Centre in March 2025. The focus of the show will be on green hydrogen, particularly electrolysis-derived, as a key element in achieving decarbonization goals. The European Union targets 20 million tonnes of hydrogen production by 2030, with half to be made domestically and the other half imported. The collaboration between IEG and HFI aims to highlight the essential role of hydrogen in reducing emissions and transitioning to cleaner energy sources. This initiative will provide a platform for industry players to engage in discussions on hydrogen technologies and their impact on the energy sector at an international level. The new Hydrogen Show, supported by Hydrogen & Fuel Cells EUROPE, will emphasize the entire life cycle of hydrogen, with a specific focus on green hydrogen as a sustainable alternative to fossil fuels. IEG's CEO, Corrado Peraboni, expressed the organization's longstanding belief in the potential of hydrogen and the importance of integrating it into the energy transition dialogue. The partnership with HFI signifies a significant step towards amplifying the presence of hydrogen within the event and establishing a notable international reference point for hydrogen-related initiatives. Andreas Züge, general manager of Hannover Fairs International GmbH, highlighted the successful history of Deutsche Messe AG in organizing hydrogen-related events like Hydrogen + Fuel Cells EUROPE. The collaboration with IEG is seen as a way to create synergies between Italy and Germany, two key industrial partners in Europe, with a shared vision for promoting hydrogen technologies. The joint efforts of IEG and HFI aim to create an innovative and attractive platform in Italy for advancing discussions and developments in the hydrogen sector.
