The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources in Jordan signed two memoranda of understanding with Tajanus Company to conduct evaluation studies for oil and gas exploration in the west Safawi and Sarhan areas. The agreements aim to assess potential hydrocarbon resources and develop oil and gas production capabilities in these regions. The partnership involves utilizing an independent oil rig for drilling up to 2,500 meters deep. Additionally, Schlumberger Company will provide technical support, introducing new exploration and data analysis technologies like artificial intelligence and digital tools. Furthermore, the agreements emphasize the importance of local participation, with Tajanus Company committed to employing at least 70% Jordanian workers for the projects. The duration of the agreements is set at 12 months, with a possible one-year extension upon request.
