Korea and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have elevated their energy partnership by delving into clean hydrogen production and nuclear power endeavors in third-party countries. The recent summit between the leaders of Korea and the UAE witnessed the signing of agreements that go beyond conventional energy cooperation. Noteworthy deals include the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement and a memorandum of understanding on carbon capture and storage (CCS). These initiatives reflect a strategic shift towards future-oriented collaborations in industry, trade, and energy. The focus on clean hydrogen production involves utilizing LNG imports from the UAE to create blue hydrogen through carbon capture processes. Both nations are actively building infrastructure for clean hydrogen production and CCS.
