NEOM, a visionary mega project in Saudi Arabia, is unveiling the first phase of its ambitious development called THE LINE, with Hidden Marina at its core—a 2.5-km-long vertical city spanning over 21 million sq m. This milestone signifies a significant urban transformation for the region. Hidden Marina, characterized by its towering height of 500m, will consist of three interconnected modules forming an innovative vertical city that can accommodate more than 200,000 residents. NEOM's Chief Development Officer, Denis Hickey, views this project as a bold redefinition of urban living with a fully integrated, modular 800-meter vertical city surpassing global landmarks in built-up area. The development will house over 80,000 residential units, 9,000 hotel rooms, and extensive commercial and retail spaces, alongside essential services like fire stations, schools, and security facilities. NEOM has mobilized a diverse workforce of over 140,000 workers, with infrastructure investments exceeding $140 billion to support essential services like energy, water, and transport. The investment strategy focuses on sectoral investments and real estate partnerships, including the NEOM Green Hydrogen Company's groundbreaking project to develop the world's largest green hydrogen plant in collaboration with Acwa Power. NEOM has forged strategic partnerships with global leaders like DSV for an advanced logistics network, Samsung for automated rebar production, and Data Vault for an AI-powered green energy data storage facility. Denis Hickey envisions NEOM as an urban revolution that transcends being just a city, aiming to redefine economies and set new benchmarks for future urban developments. With construction progressing as planned, NEOM is poised to become a global leader in sustainable and futuristic infrastructure development, setting the stage for a high-tech metropolis of the future.
