NEOM Green Hydrogen Company (NGHC) is in the process of building the world's largest green hydrogen plant at Oxagon in NEOM, Saudi Arabia's northwestern region. To support this project, NGHC has launched a significant recruitment drive for the construction and operations phases. The initiative aims to create a skilled and diverse workforce across various functions such as Corporate, EHSS, Operations & Maintenance, and IT & Cyber Security. The company recently conducted a virtual career fair that attracted over 9,000 registrations, demonstrating a high level of interest in being part of this groundbreaking project. NGHC's CEO, Wesam Alghamdi, emphasized the alignment of the company's mission with Saudi Vision 2030's goals of economic diversification and sustainability. The green hydrogen plant, a collaboration between ACWA Power, Air Products, and NEOM, is a crucial step towards reducing carbon emissions, with plans to produce 600 tonnes of carbon-free fuel daily by the end of 2026. NGHC is dedicated to attracting both local and global talent, with a focus on nurturing local talent by partnering with universities and implementing training programs. As of early August 2024, the company's workforce includes 16% females and 43% Saudi nationals. NGHC aims to encourage young Saudis to pursue roles in the industry to contribute to a cleaner and more sustainable energy future. The green hydrogen produced will be transported as green ammonia for use in sectors like heavy industry and transportation. NGHC's commitment to reaching full production by 2026 underscores its ambition to lead in the green hydrogen sector and significantly impact carbon reduction efforts.
