In Al-Ahsa, Saudi Arabia, the Al-Ahsa Governor, Prince Saud bin Talal bin Badr, inaugurated the Kingdom's first hydrogen-powered bus. The bus, operated by SAPTCO ALSA for Transportation, is designed to connect the cities of Dammam and Al-Ahsa, covering a total distance of 359 km daily. With the capacity to transport 45 passengers and travel up to 635 km on a single charge, the hydrogen-powered bus marks a significant step towards sustainable transportation in the region. During the inauguration event, Prince Saud demonstrated a keen interest in the technology, learning about how the buses operate, their fuel supply, safety standards, and their positive impact on reducing carbon emissions. The event concluded with a ride on the new bus, allowing participants to experience firsthand the advancements in eco-friendly transportation.
