AAL Shipping, a Singapore-headquartered cargo carrier, has successfully delivered heavy lift heat recovery steam generator components for Keppel Infrastructure's 600 MW combined-cycle gas turbine power plant on Jurong Island in Singapore. This project is significant as it marks Singapore's first hydrogen-ready and most advanced facility, supporting the country's commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. The plant, located in the Sakra sector of Jurong Island, will initially operate on natural gas and has the capacity to shift to run entirely on hydrogen, aiming to offset 220,000 tonnes of CO2 annually. AAL Shipping coordinated the shipment of 15 components from Masan, South Korea to Singapore, each with individual unit weights exceeding 300 tonnes. The involvement of AAL Shipping in this green energy project demonstrates its commitment to supporting local initiatives and sustainable development. The Keppel Sakra Cogeneration Plant is expected to commence commercial operations in the first half of 2026. AAL Shipping has also been focusing on talent development by recruiting and training young graduates across key offices globally to meet the growing demand for shipping services. The company's investment in talent aims to ensure comprehensive service coverage across various trade routes and regions, reflecting its dedication to enhancing expertise in the maritime industry.
