ADNOC has signed an agreement to acquire a 35% equity stake in ExxonMobil Corporation’s proposed low-carbon hydrogen and ammonia production facility in Baytown, Texas. The investment aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions across sectors like industry, energy, and transportation, and meet the growing demand for lower-carbon fuels, accelerating the path towards a net-zero future. The facility, contingent on supportive government policies and regulatory permits, is expected to be the world's largest of its kind upon startup, capable of producing 1 billion cubic feet daily of low-carbon hydrogen and over 1 million tons of low-carbon ammonia annually. ADNOC's Managing Director highlighted the strategic importance of this investment for the company, emphasizing growth in lower-carbon energy sources and international expansion.
