Air Liquide has successfully raised €500m through a green bond issuance to finance or refinance key energy transition projects in the low-carbon hydrogen and air gases sectors. This marks the company's third green bond issuance, with the latest raise being oversubscribed by investors. The bond has a 10-year maturity at a yield of 3.570% per year and was conducted through the firm's Euro Medium Term Note (EMTN) programme. Jérôme Pelletan, the Chief Financial Officer at Air Liquide, highlighted that the funds raised will support the company's investment decisions, particularly in the area of energy transition. The CEO, François Jackow, emphasized their focus on clean hydrogen's role in decarbonizing select industries and ensuring projects are economically viable. Air Liquide plans to introduce over 1.4 mtpa of clean hydrogen production by 2033.
