Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA), in collaboration with Glovis America, has introduced the deployment of Hyundai XCIENT heavy-duty hydrogen fuel-cell electric trucks in Brunswick, Georgia. The initiative involves 21 XCIENT trucks initially being utilized for clean logistics operations. The CEO of HMGMA, Oscar Kwon, emphasized the commitment to sustainable transportation solutions, highlighting that the hydrogen fuel-cell trucks release zero emissions, offering a cleaner alternative for logistics. This deployment is a step forward in reducing the carbon footprint and promoting sustainable practices in daily logistics operations. The XCIENT trucks will transport vehicle parts between suppliers and the Megasite, with plans to expand the logistics network. The launch of HTWO, Hyundai's new hydrogen value chain business brand, demonstrates the group's dedication to environmental stewardship and humanity. The initiative by HMGMA aligns with the strategy to establish a closed-loop hydrogen logistics ecosystem and enhance the environmental sustainability of manufacturing operations. Additionally, HTWO Logistics, a joint venture, will set up a mobile hydrogen refueling station at the Megasite for efficient refueling, with a hydrogen production and refueling station in development. The Bryan County, GA facility focuses on electric vehicle mass production, aiming to create an intelligent manufacturing plant with optimized processes utilizing AI and data to enhance productivity.
