Pattern Energy is moving forward with its renewable energy project in Argentia, Canada, where a 300-megawatt wind energy facility is set to power ammonia production for export. The company had announced a partnership with the Port of Argentia and has since submitted the environmental assessment for the project to the province. The assessment is expected to be registered and released for public review imminently. Additionally, Pattern Energy has secured a letter of intent with the German company Mabanaft for equity investment and full offtake for the project. Managing director Frank Davis highlighted the significance of this agreement within the industry, noting that many wind-hydrogen agreements in North America lack binding offtake agreements.
