Plug Power Inc. has confirmed the progress of its 15-ton-per-day hydrogen plant in St. Gabriel, Louisiana, operated by the joint venture Hidrogenii, a collaboration between Plug Power and Olin Corporation. The facility, utilizing by-product hydrogen from chlorine production, is in its final commissioning phase and is scheduled for operation in the first quarter. With a focus on safety, the plant has achieved over 412,000 safe working hours and zero recordable injuries, showcasing a strong safety record. The critical dry-out process is underway to ensure high-purity hydrogen production by eliminating moisture and impurities, a pivotal step for maintaining operational efficiency. Once operational, the plant will increase Plug's total production capacity to 39 TPD, supporting the company's growth strategy and meeting the rising demand from key partners like Amazon and Walmart.
