First Hydrogen Corporation has achieved a significant milestone as its hydrogen-powered fuel-cell vehicle (FCEV) successfully completed a trial with Amazon in London, UK. The FCEV covered 535 km and delivered 3,462 packages with 1,547 stops, receiving positive feedback for its performance during the 8-10 hour shifts. Amazon's Data Science team analyzed telematics data daily to evaluate the FCEV's performance, aiming to optimize energy efficiency and recovery. Based on the data, improvements are planned to enhance the FCEV's range and efficiency, with engineers targeting a projected range exceeding 450 km before refueling. The trial highlighted the importance of driver behavior in influencing energy consumption and efficiency. First Hydrogen plans to expand its trials to Europe and North America, continuing to showcase its hydrogen-as-a-service model through partnerships. The company aims to maximize payload and performance by implementing design and predictive behavior improvements. The data collected during the trial will be utilized to develop predictive software, optimize pedal controller tuning, and introduce a new operating mode to reduce ancillary power consumption.
