SunHydrogen, a company specializing in renewable hydrogen production using sunlight and water, has made significant advancements in its technology. The company has begun the fabrication and testing of large-scale modules, in collaboration with CTF Solar, to create green hydrogen. This collaboration aims to integrate thin-film solar cell modules into SunHydrogen's technology for hydrogen production. In a joint effort with Honda R&D Co., SunHydrogen achieved an impressive 10.8% solar-to-hydrogen efficiency in their hydrogen modules, showcasing a notable milestone in the industry. The team is also focusing on ensuring the durability and long-term performance of the modules by protecting them from chemical corrosion. Additionally, they are developing membrane-less housing units for hydrogen panels to safely separate hydrogen and oxygen without the use of environmentally harmful compounds. SunHydrogen's CEO, Tim Young, expressed gratitude for the support of industrial partners and highlighted the company's commitment to commercial-scale demonstration. Furthermore, SunHydrogen recently joined the Texan Hydrogen Alliance to further contribute to the growth of the hydrogen economy.
