SunHydrogen has embarked on the fabrication and testing of large-scale hydrogen panel demonstrations in partnership with CTF Solar. This collaboration aims to integrate CTF's solar cell modules into SunHydrogen's technology for green hydrogen production. The companies have jointly designed a scalable thin-film solar cell module architecture for multiple 1m2 demonstrations currently under construction. SunHydrogen has also focused on ensuring the durability and long-term performance of these modules by safeguarding them from chemical corrosion. In a significant development, the company demonstrated its initial hydrogen modules with 10.8% solar-to-hydrogen efficiency, a level not yet reached by other companies using cost-effective semiconductor materials in water. This achievement was lauded by Dr. Syed Mubeen, SunHydrogen's Chief Scientific Officer. The collaboration with Honda R&D involves studying hydrodynamic conditions to enhance module performance and finalizing sites for large-scale pilot plant demonstrations. Additionally, SunHydrogen is pioneering the development of membrane-less housing units for its hydrogen panels, aiming to safely separate hydrogen and oxygen without the need for membranes. This innovation is expected to reduce costs significantly and eliminate the use of PFAS, demonstrating the company's commitment to sustainability.
