Walmart Canada recently introduced its first hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle in collaboration with Nikola at Walmart's fully automated distribution center located near Toronto. The unveiling of the Class 8 electric truck marks a significant milestone for Walmart Canada in its journey towards sustainability. This hydrogen fuel cell truck, with a range of approximately 800 kilometers, aims to reduce CO2 emissions by 97 metric tons annually. The vehicle, supplied by ITD Industries, will operate from Mississauga to Vaughan, supporting Walmart's ambition for a zero-emission fleet by 2040. Walmart's strategic goal includes transitioning its entire fleet, which comprises over 400 stores nationwide, to zero-emission vehicles.
