Chile has announced new subsidies for electrolyser companies involved in green hydrogen initiatives. Companies in Chile have the opportunity to apply for financial support, with each plant eligible for up to $10 million, until the end of August. President of Chile, Gabriel Boric, emphasized the significance of green hydrogen projects during a visit with the European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in Santiago last June. The subsidies are specifically targeted at promoting the development of green hydrogen and e-fuels projects, with a focus on the Magallanes region. This move underlines Chile's dedication to advancing sustainable energy practices and attracting investments in the renewable energy sector. The support from the government aims to accelerate the transition towards cleaner energy sources and reduce carbon emissions in the country.
