Greg Vezina, the CEO of Hydrofuel Canada Inc., emphasized the importance of hydrogen in energy production and highlighted smaller-scale hydrogen tech as a crucial step towards mainstream adoption. Alberta's government has announced a $3 million investment in a Calgary-based company to convert biomass into hydrogen, capitalizing on the province's natural gas reserves and existing energy infrastructure. Todd May, the global business director for hydrogen at Baltimore Aircoil Company, sees Alberta as a primary market for hydrogen and carbon capture due to its natural resources and established oil and gas infrastructure. This gathering in Edmonton signifies a strong push towards embracing hydrogen as a key component in the future of global energy production.
