HydrogenPro, a notable player in the hydrogen industry, has announced its plans to expand the production capacity of its Gen3 electrodes. This investment aims to introduce a new production line with an annual capacity of 90-100MW, enhancing the efficiency of hydrogen production. The Gen3 electrode technology developed by HydrogenPro is acclaimed for its industry-leading efficiency, which is expected to drive down the levelised cost of hydrogen (LCOH). The company anticipates that the new production line will quadruple the capacity for large electrodes and is scheduled to commence operations in Q1 2025. Through an investment of 70m NOK ($6.6m), HydrogenPro is leveraging its experience from the planning of the H2-GIGA factory to facilitate this expansion. Despite experiencing a decline in revenues and EBITDA in Q1 2024, HydrogenPro CEO, Jarle Dragvik, remains confident in the commercial viability of the Gen3 electrodes. The company's unique technology is positioned for commercialization to meet the rising demand for efficient hydrogen production solutions. Additionally, H2 View's Class of H2 is offering training modules to address the industry's skills gap and enhance understanding of hydrogen production methods, including e-fuels, ammonia, low-carbon, green, and turquoise hydrogen production, biomass pathways, and underground storage. This initiative aims to equip individuals with the necessary expertise to contribute to the hydrogen sector's growth and development.
