RW Energy will lead in project identification, facility design, and business development, while Nu:ionic will supply low-carbon hydrogen production equipment. The collaboration will leverage Nu:ionic's teal hydrogen production equipment, the Nu-X Smart ReformerSM, and integrated carbon capture to generate high-purity hydrogen and cryogenic liquid CO2 as industrial grade products. These can be transported for sequestration or utilization. The anticipated process could yield between 1.2 and six tonnes of hydrogen daily at each site. Initial sites in north California, the Gulf Coast of Texas, and Ohio were chosen for their existing infrastructure, market demand, and regulatory environment. The CEOs of both companies expressed optimism about the partnership, highlighting the potential for low-carbon energy solutions at distributed production capacities across the US. Additionally, Nu:ionic and HybriGenix Futures are collaborating on a new gas turbine power plant in Alberta, Canada, powered by low-carbon hydrogen blends from an electrified steam methane reforming process. This partnership signifies a step towards sustainable energy solutions and showcases the increasing importance of hydrogen in the global energy transition.
