According to data released by South Korea's Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, hydrogen consumption in the country's automotive sector has shown a significant increase. The consumption reached 6,389 tons in the first nine months of the year, marking a substantial 59% rise from the previous year. This surge in hydrogen consumption is attributed to the growing presence of hydrogen-powered buses, allowing more people to interact with hydrogen products in their daily routines. Deputy Minister Lee Ho-hyeon stressed the necessity of ensuring a stable hydrogen supply to foster the continued growth of the hydrogen-powered industry. To support this goal, the South Korean government is actively engaged in monitoring the market dynamics and maintaining close communication with various entities including relevant departments, local governments, and businesses. This proactive approach signifies the government's commitment to promoting and sustaining the hydrogen sector's progress in the country.
