ACME Group has announced the reception of $140 million as the initial funding installment for its green hydrogen and green ammonia project in Duqm, Oman. This funding, part of a total $540 million allocation, represents 75% of the project cost, showing global interest in investing in the Special Economic Zone at Duqm. The project, totaling around $750 million, is a significant step towards Oman's sustainable energy solutions and carbon emissions reduction goals. ACME's project marks a strategic move in the green hydrogen sector, with the objective of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. The secured funding and off-take agreement with Yara provide a strong financial basis for the project's execution, aiming for timely production. With contracts signed and infrastructure development in progress, the project is on track for green hydrogen pilot production as planned. ACME's Country Manager in Oman expressed gratitude for the trust placed in the project, highlighting its importance for the green hydrogen sector in Oman and the global energy market. The project's first-phase production capacity is set at 100,000 tonnes of green ammonia annually, with future expansion planned. ACME's certification for green hydrogen and ammonia production further solidifies its position in the industry, with plans to supply Yara with green ammonia starting in Q1 2027. This achievement, combined with international accreditation, positions ACME as a key player in the transition towards sustainable energy and low carbon emissions.
