The Autonomous Rapid Transit (ART) hydrogen vehicle project for the Kuching Urban Transportation System (KUTS) in Malaysia has reached a milestone with the upcoming delivery of the first two units by the end of the year. The pre-commissioning and physical inspection of the 'golden train' took place at the manufacturing facility in China, showcasing progress in the manufacturing process. This development has attracted attention nationally and internationally, highlighting Sarawak's commitment to transforming public transport with green hydrogen. The upgraded ART vehicles boast enhanced capabilities such as climbing slopes, energy efficiency, and designated areas for luggage and accessibility. Sustainability is a key focus, with efforts to explore hydrogen technology advancements to lower production costs for green hydrogen. This initiative not only promotes a zero-emission public transport system but also positions Sarawak as a pioneer in adopting such innovative solutions.
