Ryze and ZeroAvia have announced a significant partnership to advance hydrogen aviation technology, with Ryze supplying hydrogen for engine and flight testing at ZeroAvia's UK base at Cotswold Airport in Kemble. This collaboration underscores the increasing focus on zero-emission aviation solutions in the hydrogen sector, particularly for commercial flights. ZeroAvia, recognized as a top greentech company in the USA, aims to revolutionize the industry by developing hydrogen-electric engines for commercial aviation, emphasizing environmental and economic benefits. By conducting intensive ground and flight testing, including using a 19-seat testbed aircraft, ZeroAvia is progressing towards certifying its ZA600 powertrain for up to 20 seat aircraft. The partnership with Ryze ensures a consistent hydrogen supply at Cotswold Airport to support this testing and certification process. Additionally, ZeroAvia is targeting significant milestones, such as achieving a 300-mile range in 20 seat aircraft by 2025 and extending to 700-mile range in 40–80 seat aircraft by 2027, aligning with efforts to reduce carbon emissions in the aviation sector. The collaboration between Ryze and ZeroAvia reflects a shared commitment to driving innovation and sustainability in the aviation industry, contributing to the global transition towards a hydrogen economy.
