ZeroAvia and FlightSafety International have partnered to develop training resources for pilots and maintenance technicians to support the adoption of hydrogen-electric propulsion technologies in aviation. The collaboration includes creating flight simulators and digital learning platforms to prepare the aviation industry for fuel cell electric aircraft, aiming to facilitate faster market adoption post-certification. ZeroAvia's expertise from flight testing its 19-seat testbed and working on airport hydrogen usage, combined with FlightSafety's 75-year experience in aviation training, strengthens the industry's transition to clean propulsion systems. ZeroAvia's recent achievement of an FAA G-1 issue paper for its 600kW electric propulsion system signifies progress towards introducing the ZA600 hydrogen-electric powertrain in the next two years, with plans for further scaling. Major airlines like American, United, and Alaska have already placed engine pre-orders, indicating significant industry interest in hydrogen-electric technology. The partnership emphasizes the importance of collaboration with industry leaders to prepare for the upcoming technology shift in aviation, ensuring a seamless transition to clean, efficient, and affordable propulsion systems.
