ZeroAvia, a developer of hydrogen-electric aviation solutions, has completed its first sale of a standalone 600kW electric propulsion system to Jetcruzer International. The system includes ZeroAvia's proprietary technology and will be used in ground and flight testing of the Jetcruzer 500E aircraft. ZeroAvia's EPS recently received FAA certification basis, aiming to secure the type certificate within a year. The company has received significant pre-orders for its hydrogen-electric powertrains and is now focusing on providing standalone propulsion components to aircraft manufacturers. ZeroAvia has also expanded its operations by opening a new Propulsion Center of Excellence in Everett, WA, to meet the growing market demand. Jetcruzer International, an aircraft manufacturer based in the US, is incorporating the 600kW EPS in its electric aircraft development plans, starting with the Jetcruzer 500E scheduled for entry-into-service in 2028. The company has shifted its focus to developing hydrogen-electric aircraft, with plans for the Jetcruzer 1250E in 2030, after acquiring the intellectual property of the Jetcruzer 500 in 2017.
